Successful third-party funded project at the Laboratory for Experimental Oncology

The Wilhelm Sander Foundation for Cancer Research favorably appraised the request of the Research Laboratory for Experimental Oncology (Prof. Dr. C. Driessen). The amount of CHF 210’000 has been granted over a timeframe of 2 years for the project "Systematic comparison of antineoplastic effects of HIV protease inhibitors in hematologic malignancies". The project will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. rer. nat. Marianne Kraus at the Laboratory for Experimental Oncology (building 09) in collaboration with the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). It is a complementary project to the clinical development of HIV protease inhibitors as antineoplastic drugs, conducted by Prof. Driessen in close collaboration with the SAKK (Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research).
