Support for cardiovascular research project from the Swiss National Science Foundation
The Swiss National Science Foundation continues to provide support for the research on cardiovascular immunopathology at the Institute of Immunobiology. 415'000,- Fr. have been granted for a period of 3 years. Two doctoral students will continue to work the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory processes in the cardiovascular system.
Chronic inflammation in the cardiovascular system is a major hallmark of important diseases such as atherosclerosis and myocarditis. The research team at the Institute of Immunobiology has developed novel model systems to better unterstand these processes and to delineate possible intervention strategies.Contact: Burkhard.Ludewig@kssg.ch
