Brief description/objective

We assessed the incidence, risk factors and outcomes associated with CMV disease in a large countrywide cohort of SOT recipients (Swiss Transplant Cohort Study [STCS])
We specifically evaluated the impact of antiviral prophylaxis on the incidence and outcome of CMV disease, as current preventive strategies have greatly reduced CMV associated morbidity and mortality.
