Injuries occurring during soccer tend to occur with lower energy
transfer than in some other contact sports. Tibial and femoral shaft
fractures occasionally occur, but pelvic fractures are rare. We
report a case of a missed posterior acetabular rim fracture, caused
by a low energy trauma playing soccer, complicated by the
development of avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head and
subsequent osteoarthritis.
